Welcome to eBayesMet project website PDF Print E-mail

Nowadays, decisions on which medical technology should be financed from public funds are the most important decisions in almost all health care systems. A basis for such reimbursement decisions are in the form of systematic reviews, that are within a so-called “value dossier” which contains statistical analysis (and meta-analysis) of data from clinical trials play pivotal role.

Conducting meta-analysis is a complicated process because of - among other things - a necessity of using the best possible techniques attuned to sort out available data.
In spite of many existing guidelines on the preparation of systematic reviews, there is a lack of complex statistical outlines on choosing an appropriate statistical technique for “head-to-head” or an indirect comparison.

Thus, the purpose of the ebayesmet project is to facilitate the process by providing complex information on available statistical techniques in the form of an e-learning tool and guidelines.
